Other popular TV series: 
Cbeebies + Milkshake - Ben and Holly, Fifi and the flower top, Postman Pat. They are all 2D animation and stop motions. They are also aimed at young children. 
The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, American Dad, King of the hill. These programmes are aimed for young adults.

These were successful because they have quirky humour and for all ages 
- Paranorman, Coraline, Frakenweeine.
These were successful because they aren't the typical animated film. They're stop motion, "gothic", haunted. 

TV series

Popular programmes: Ben and Holly, fifi and the flowertots, Postman pat. These are all 2D cel animation and stop motions. These shows are popular because they are animated to suit their target audience.


Other Popular TV shows: The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, American Dad, Beavis and buthead, King of the hill. These shows are mainly for young adults. They are popular because of the humour and more detailed animation. 
Adventure time, Ed, Edd and Eddy, The amazing world of gumball, Regular show. These shows are for older children/early teens. 

All these TV shows are popular because they're episodic, driven by character and key events but the characters are hardly developed over series. They're also eratic, abstract, 2D character over 3D background and mix artistic.

- Aimed at children,early years (3-6) and re watchable, 
- Successful web cartoons - entertainment: simple, catchy, there for repeated viewings, experimental catching edge and educational.

Top shows on youtube: ASDF, Charlie the unicorn, llamas with hats. These are aimed at young teens. They're popular because they're usual, short, quotable and can watch over and over again.
